Togliatti is situated about 1,000 km south east of Moscow on the banks of the Volga, near the Samarskaja Luka national park and opposite the Schiguli Mountains, which are the only mountain range on the Volga. This part of the Volga region is known as the „Pearl of Russia“ due to its beautiful landscape. The Samara region is one of the most economically developed areas in Russia and has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the Russian Federation. Russia’s largest car manufacturing plant, the Lada factory is well-known. There are six universities and third level colleges in the city, several museums, a philharmonic hall, theatre of the most diverse styles and genres and palaces of culture. Togliatti has also made a name for itself as a sports city. Since 2015, the newly built airport with its numerous direct international flights has made the city easily accessible.
The city is divided into three separate parts: the historic district, the new town and the district called Komsomolsk. Between these different neighbourhoods lies a “green zone” - a woodland that is a landscape conservation area. It is right here, directly on a tributary of the Volga, on an area of over 40,000 m2 that the LADA-RESORT Hotel is located.
